Now open: Call for Annual Meeting ABSTRACTS and Photo/VIDEO Submissions
The last year has been a period of exciting, even transformational growth for hospital at home programs across the country. Spurred by the CMS Acute Hospital Care at Home waiver, concerns about hospital patient safety during the COVID pandemic, and media coverage of the model’s potential, health systems and hospitals have taken notice. They are developing programs in urban, suburban, and rural settings and exploring how acute care for a wide range of patients and diagnoses can be delivered safely and effectively at home. As the public health emergency ends and the federal government considers whether or how to continue the waiver, all hospital at home programs must consider how to both improve their patient care and respond to an uncertain future.
During this period, the Hospital at Home Users Group™, with ongoing support from The John A. Hartford Foundation, has grown dramatically. We now include more than 50 organizational Members and nearly 75 Affiliates. We have expanded our technical assistance, launched a webinar series, and have created a vibrant learning community for new and existing programs. We look forward to helping this group of pioneering initiatives sustain their work in the months and years ahead.
It is an opportune moment for this year’s Users Group annual meeting, which will take place online, October 28, 2021, as a pre-conference to the American Academy of Home Care Medicine’s meeting. We hope you will join us. The day-long meeting will include presentations from national leaders, panel discussions and working sessions focused on practice and policy concerns, as well as a poster session, a photo/video contest, and much more.
So, save the date. Our call for abstracts and photos/videos is now open here. Registration details will be available shortly.
